Deng Hexiang was born in Wuhan, Hubei province in 1985. He is a professor of College of Chemistry and Molecular Science, Wuhan University and was selected to the “the Recruitment Program of Global Experts” in 2012. He got his bachelor degree in Fudan University and studied mesoporous material in the research team led by CAS member Zhao Dongyuan. Later, supervised by professor Omar Yaghi, he pursued further study on systematic design and synthesis of crystalline nanoporous MOFs in UCLA and obtained his Ph.D in chemistry at the year 2011. In the same year, he was awarded with National Excellent Self-funded International Student Scholarship by China Scholarship Council. Then he did research as post-doctor at UCLA and LBNL of UC Berkeley from 2012 to 2013. At the beginning of 2013, Deng was employed as the young academic leaders by the College of Chemistry and Molecular Science, Wuhan University, working on such field as meditated assembly of organic and inorganic molecules, green porous nano materials for energy storage, and the application of nanocrystalline in gas storage and separation, energy conservation, and selective catalysis.
